How do I know if my computer can support an AMD Phenom 9850 Quad-Core Processor?

Would know what I would have to do to find out if my computer can support an AMD Phenom 9850 Quad-Core Processor, could someone give me a list of what I would have to look at and make sure of first, any assistance would be helpful, thank you.

you would have to look at what kind of motherboard you have and check to see what socket is on it. they check to see if the socket is compatible to the processor.

Download " SIW" and look what kind of main board you have.Then look at the manufactures site if your board will support a Quad.I hope you know that you need a AM2+ board-which I think you do not have if your computer is older than 10 months.

Check the socket of your motherboard and compare it with the socket which required by the processor.
