Amd phenom II X4 BE processor will it fit in DDR3 motherboard?

I know "Amd phenom II X4 processor" supports motherboard with am2+ socket. And im really confused here doesnt am2+ socket motherboard mean its ddr2?

Only AM3 motherboards support DDR3 technology

AM2 and AM2+ only work in DDR2 anfd AM3 only can work in DDR2 or DDR3 so you need is DDR2 for AM2+

The X4 940BE is a ddr2 only chip. You have to get the X4 955BE. It works in both AM3 (DDR3) sockets and AM2+(DDR2) sockets.
