[Help!] New set up but no channels

I am new at setting up FTA and could use some help. I live in Northern California about
135 miles North of the Golden Gate bridge. All the research I have done indicates that the
Dish 500, 22x24 oval, will give good results. What I have is an Mvidea FS-4000 receiver,
still looking for the manual, a new LNBF for KU band and a new satellite finder meter. I
mounted the new LNBF on the Dish 500 in exactly the same position as the original LNB,
set the skew for seven o’clock as indicated for G-19 and set the rough positions of 37
degrees elevation and 141 degrees azimuth. I then set up the meter and slowly moved the
dish in each direction to achieve the highest strength. The meter on the TV screen shows
70 to 80 percent strength but zero quality. This is true of any position the dish is pointed.
Oddly, if I use my old DirecTV dish with it’s LNB pointed at their satellite I get high
strength and high quality on the scale but of course no channels. As I said the LNBF is
new, it is the model: ESX521FE. Any ideas?
