L.E.D. on an Alt Cur circuit

My house has a boiler syster with four zone valves. Each valve is controlled by a thermostat that sends 24 volt AC to the valve open/close motor switch. When the boiler pump kicks in, I would like to visually see which thermostats are calling for heat. I thought I can put a 24 Volt AC L.E.D. on each switch so they would illuminate when they are activated by their thermostat.

The first question is - Will the LED have an adverse effect the current circuit? Would it hurt the motorized switch?
Secondly; Would this work?
Thirdly; Where can I get the best price on a 24 volt AC Light Emitting Diode? Hopefully in the $7 - $8 range or less. I found $18 at Grainger.

Thanks.
