Re: BL loader com port problem

This is the cable you need in order to program your receiver via Blacklist updater.
    It's a:
Straight Through Serial Cable DB9, female to female connection. RS-232 serial cable.
We need to verify you are using the right cable. If you're not, that is most likely the problem and you need to get one of these cables.

Ok I am using Serial Cable DB9, female to female connection. RS-232 serial cable and in between I am using a USB cable as connecter to my computer and Fortec receiver, for some reason my CPU cannot be connected directly to Female RS-232 Cable and I bought the USB with male to connect RS-232 to connect my CPU with my Fortec, may be due to two connections are connected to each other could be an issue??? do you think??

What I am guessing is once I should be able to see COM1 instead of COM4 then my problem will be solved, that is the only issue I am facing in my opinion as the rest the system starts reading on COM4 but failed to write

I hope you guys can figure that out what is the real issue

Re: BL loader com port problem

Ok. If there is no connection on the back of the computer where the cable can plug in (9-pin serial port), this means you don't have a serial com port. The USB to RS-232 connectors don't always work. They are very finicky. We have used them before with no luck on a lot of computers, especially with the Fortec Ultra receiver. You will either need to buy a PCI COM port (serial) card for the computer, or find a someone with a computer that has that connection already.
