How do i install Nvidia Drivers on Ubuntu 8.10?

I just installed a fresh install on my PC. But i cant install Nvidia Driverswhen i Insert the Disk is says"UNABLE TO MOUNT G71-VN31018DBus error org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply: Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken."Can someone help me out ?

go to ubuntu forums they will tell you how to install the drivers. or you can go to Nvidia website and download the linux drivers from there.Nvidia are proprietary drivers and not open source so you need to install them a certain way. check the link below

Are you having Dual-boot with windows?if so,shut down your Windows properly,and Scan your Windows filesystem for disk errors.
