Is a gaming keyboard and mouse necessary?

My keyboard and mouse just broke. (using old ones) I play games on my computer. I play FPS games the most. Should I buy a gaming mouse and keyboard or just the mouse or just the keyboard? I only want whats completely necessary. I'm thinking of only getting a mouse.

You will definitely need both a mouse and keyboard at some point. Get both.

Stick with a regular mouse and keyboard. The gaming versions are only for real hard core games. Myself, I've never noticed a difference and figure it is mostly marketting.

Is a gaming keyboard and mouse necessary?

I use the G15 gaming keyboard and let me tell you, the only difference between a normal keyboard is 54 programmable macro keys, and a screen to show you stats which in most games that are compatible show them on your monitor to begin with, and the gaming cpu mouse have extra buttons to make say certain things easier and faster to accomplish, I'd recommend a gaming mouse with a bunch of extra buttons but really stick to a non gaming keyboard any can suffice just as good and probably cheaper.

well if you want only whats completely necessary, don't buy a gaming keyboard or mouse. if your on a tight budget, they usually cost more.

Is a gaming keyboard and mouse necessary?

A gaming keyboard is not necessarily required. The main selling point of gaming keyboards (aside from their looks) is that most of them have programmable keys of some sort, allowing you to program it to push multiple keys/run a command/etc using just one key. If that is something you think you would need, then that could be a reason to get one, otherwise, a regular, non-"gaming" keyboard should still work just fine.Gaming mice, on the other hand, aside from extra/programmable buttons usually have a much faster response time than regular mice, so if you play a lot of games that require a quick response (first person shooters, for example) then that would probably be something to look into.If you are only looking at getting one of the two, a gaming mouse would probably be a much better purchase than a keyboard.

since you need both go ahead and get both if they are in the budget. you can use regular items but they might not respond as well or last as long under heavy gming usage but special gaming items are quite pricey.
