Wall St opens flat on conflicting signals

NEW YORK – Stocks opened little changed on Wednesday, caught between signs of improvement in the labor market and concerns about the Federal Reserve's asset purchases and European debt.

* The Dow Jones industrial average (.DJI) gained 7.41 points, or 0.07 percent, to 11,354.16. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index (.SPX) added 1.00 points, or 0.08 percent, to 1,214.40. The Nasdaq Composite Index (.IXIC) rose 2.56 points, or 0.10 percent, to 2,565.54.
