I have a springt broadband card that I use for my laptop but I need a wireless router so I can have internet for my other computers. I mean like G wireless routers or N. I have no clue what they are lol.I have a belkinN wireless router but I don't think it works with wireless broadband internet...more like regular broadband internet with a modem. Does anyone know how to install it to work with the wireless broadband internet sprint card?

G Wireless routers provided wireless connection to most of the house.N wireless routers provides connection inside and outside of the house.

Any wireless router will work. 802.11n provides more bandwidth within the network, but is still relatively new and semi-expensive. 802.11g is pretty much standard.A good bet, for relatively cheap, is the Linksys WRT54GS. It's about $70 or so, and you can modify the firmware to be able to do many things more expensive routers can do.

Okay... hold on.I think I get the problem..You have a 3g card for your laptop. Basically talking to cell phone towers and the like. You want to use THAT connection as a gateway to run a LAN for your other machines yes?You can do it, but it does take a special kind of router.. like this:http://www.google.com/products/catalog?q=3g+router&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:eek:fficial&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&cid=11941864053285701296&ei=Y4yEScrlLYHasAOPy5iPBw&sa=X&oi=product_catalog_result&resnum=2&ct=result#ps-sellersYou can ALSO, and this is weird, but you can use the laptop as the gateway, and connect your Belkin router to the wired port on the laptop, turn on connection sharing and do it that way, but like I said... weird.. Get the router. You don't need THAT exact router, but they all seem to be about the same $.. Google up "3g Router" and start following.

You can set your computer up as a wired gateway by connecting the ethernet port on your computer to the "internet in" port on the router, or get a router that can act as a bridge. Whether it is a G or an N router shouldn't make a difference for your purposes except in the broadcast distance. Of course either way if you take your laptop out of the house, everything in the house will use web access. If you are interested in advances in wireless internet, check out WiMax from Clear. Its only in Portland, Oregon, but they are planning on bringing it to other cities soon too.
