Couple face theft charges in duck case

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla., -- A Florida couple are facing misdemeanor theft charges for rounding up neighborhood ducks and having them taken to a shelter where they were euthanized.
Robert and Blain Aymond of Palm Beach Gardens were scheduled to appear Monday before Palm Beach County Judge Laura Johnson to face theft charges for rounding up the eight ducks, owned by the homeowners association, and hiring a trapper to take them to a shelter, where they were killed, The Palm Beach Post reported Monday.
The Aymonds refused a deal offered by the state attorney's office, which would have dropped the charges in exchange for the couple paying a $270 fine and writing an apology letter to their duck-loving neighbors.
