Help Please...

Hi All,

I'm new to the forums and I'm having trouble with my pansat 2700.

Usually I have to go to my friends house to update the bin file on my reciever because my laptop doesn't have a serial port.

I finally got tired of that and bought a USB to serial port adaptor.

The only problem is, the bin file won't transfer over to the receiver. I've tested the serial port, change the port to com1, 2, 3, 4 & even called the manufacturer, but the bin file does not go to the receiver.

The GTRom Loader I am using just says downloading and sits on 0%.

I also thought it might be the bin file itself, so I downloaded an old bin file from July, but the same thing happens.

I'm running out of ideas and was wondering if anyone here had any suggestions or fixes.

you have to install the USB serial and the computer must recognize it

go to control penal than click system than go to hardware and click on device manager and go to universal serial Bus control and their you can see the USB and active that port and see what number you is serial port after you install it you should be fine

I appreciate the response DARKLIST, but I got it all working.

For those who might run into the same problem. I had the usb to serial cable directly connected to my receiver. What I needed was the usb to serial cable directly connected to a null cable, then to the receiver. Everything works now.
