I just purchased an High Definition Camcorder. My computer has a Blu-Ray burner on it, so I was wondering what is the best software to by in order to edit, cut, and add music to the video clips. I have windows vista. Any suggestions and reasons why would be great.

I think Pinnacle Studios is a very good video editor..you can even add backgrounds there, along with hundreds of other things too.

Ulead videostudio leavesall others standing. Why not download the free 14 day trial from www.corel.co.uk & try it out, you will be impressed, I have tried them all but keep coming back to Ulead & I've been making movies for about 30 years, long before camcorders, I've used videostudio from the very first versions & it just keeps gettin bettr & better , It can do EVERYTHING you want it to.

adobe premiere would be the best and if you want to do special effects then you should get after effects but both are pretty pricey

With Windoz, you won't do more than amateur stuff....Final Cut Express pound to pound with Avid. (if you invest in a decent Mac) check-out Blender for stuff you can get away with for free so you don't over buy....
