If the printer is stuck in self-diagnostics, then you may have a defective printer. First, check and make sure you've removed all packing materials (tape, fillers, etc.), loaded supplies (paper, toner, any other necessary operating supplies), then power the printer off for about 15 minutes & try again. Make sure you're not plugging it into a surge protector power strip as that will reduce available power to the printer and can cause operational problems. Plug it directly into a working wall outlet. If it's still stuck in the self-diagnostics mode, then you should probably take it back to where you got it from or talk to their technical support group.Best of luck.
