Hi all, just thought i'd drop by and say hello and THANK YOU.

I'm very new to FTA television. I have a Pansat 2700A, that was given to me by my son-in-law who had no further use for it. I'm assuming it to be old technology as I know he had it in use for a number of years before handing it over to me.

I am very grateful for all the helpful information that I have found on this site, without it I'm sure I'd be stuck with a large silver paperweight!

I would like to stress one thing to all other newbies like myself out there.

When you download the bin file, which is just as easy to do as it sounds in the instructions that have kindly been posted by a number of users here, the next step is PATIENCE! .. as it can takes quite a while for the "Fix" to take effect.

I had tried down loading a number of different BIN files, as none seemed to work, I was expecting instant gratification (a sign of our times I guess).
Each time I reconnected the receiver to the TV and got "Nothing" I assumed the BIN or download had failed to work.

It was on my 5th attempt that I finally had results and it was out of frustration that I left the receiver powered up and the TV on while I returned to the computer, and your website, to look for more info.

It must have been about 20 minutes since loading the BIN file, that the TV suddenly sprang to life, the volume adjustment on the TV had somehow been set to the "Burst Eardrum" level and the channel was .. well lets just say it was "Adult Oriented"
I damn near fell out of my chair with surprise, but that soon changed to joy at the realization of success.

So i would just like to stress, after down loading the BIN file .. you have to WAIT! .. and I do mean WAIT as I know from experience it can take at least 20 minutes for the BIN to do its thing.

I do have a couple of questions on this matter, and on where to go from here, so maybe I'll post them in the "Pansat Discussions" area ..

Thanks again and its great to be here!

Jim
