Canadian fta setup

to all you canadians, here is a secret.. SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!
canadians.. if you want TRUE fta channels.. and dont wish to go BUY a lnbf or universal or large dish... there IS a alternative , tried, tested , and true... done by yours truely... i been enjoying TRUE fta channels on 93.1w, 95w, 97w, 101w, 123w, 125w, 129w without having to go buy expensive equipment like lnbf, universal lnb, 1.2 meter dishes....(not even a motor).
first off... take a walk/jog/bike ride/drive.... OPEN your eyes.. look around... see all those dishes laying in peoples yards or on roofs without coax runing to them? read the brand name!!... if it says STAHRCHOICE on it.... go knock on door!!.. ask if u can remove it for them if they not use it.. most will GIVE u the dish if u say u will remove it... even let u take it right off the roof...
now.. dont worry about size or type of dish.. if its STAHRCHOICE... its proper ...
heres the secret ... all STAHRCHOICES are FACTORY MADE to recive true fta linear signals... thats right.. NO alteration needed, dont need to cut or add to the mast pole, dont need to change lnbf type...
the oval dishes (about 28 to 30 inch) with a round lnbf are good for a single fta satalite. the eliptical dishes (33 by 18 inch) have a DUAL lnbf with INTERNAL 22khz switch.. great for 2 fta sats that are 4 degree apart from eachother.
ok.. now for the technical part.. the setup
- lnbf type is SINGLE (for BOTH oval and eliptical dual lnbf dishes)
- make sure lnbf frequency in your settings are at 10750.. for both types of SC dishes...
- on the dual lnbf eliptical dish... have the satalite setup like this:
more east satalite has 22KHZ OFF
more west satalite has 22KHZ ON
this means.. on a eliptical dish that can recive 2 sats at 4 degree seperatation... like 97w and 101w... in settings.. 97w will have 22KHZ OFF... 101w will have 22khz ON.
and on a eliptical dish, you only need ONE coax cable going to it.. the internal switch in the lnbf will work both sides, saves you a spot on your disqc switch.. (technicaly if you have 4 eliptical SC dishes, you can have 8 seperate satalites, useing a single 4 port disqc switch)
bascialy.. after all this.. aim dish like you would to recive DN or BEV , but at a FTA satalite... and BLIND SCAN...
*note.. there is NO EPG guide for FTA channels
*note.. there is NO set channel number for each channel, everyones channels will have a diffrent channel number.
*note.. i try and post movie and sports info for fta channels on this site as frequently as i can, just search for them.
