'Empire,' 'Dexter' casts up for SAG Award

LOS ANGELES, -- The stars of "Boardwalk Empire," "The Closer" and "Dexter" have been nominated for Hollywood's Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Ensemble in a Drama Series.
The shows will compete against "The Good Wife" and "Man Men" for the honor, it was announced Thursday.
In the running for the Best Ensemble in a Comedy Series are the casts of "30 Rock," "Glee," "Hot in Cleveland," "Modern Family" and "The Office."
The nominees for Best Actor in a Drama Series are Steve Buscemi for "Boardwalk Empire," Bryan Cranston for "Breaking Bad," Michael C. Hall for "Dexter," Jon Hamm for "Mad Men" and Hugh Laurie for "House."
Vying for the Best Actress in a Drama Series prize are Glenn Close for "Damages," Mariska Hargitay for "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," Julianna Margulies for "The Good Wife," Elisabeth Moss for "Mad Men" and Kyra Sedgwick for "The Closer."
In the running for Best Actor in a Comedy Series are Alec Baldwin for "30 Rock," Ty Burrell for "Modern Family," Steve Carell for "The Office," Chris Colfer for "Glee" and Ed O'Neill for "Modern Family."
The contenders for Best Actress in a Comedy Series are Edie Falco for "Nurse Jackie," Tina Fey for "30 Rock," Jane Lynch for "Glee," Sofia Vergara for "Modern Family" and Betty White for "Hot in Cleveland."
The SAG Awards ceremony is to be simulcast live on Jan. 30 on TNT and TBS from the Los Angeles Shrine Exposition Center.
