What is more important to gaming? Mouse or Keyboard?

I have an old white A-Open keyboard from years ago as my gaming keyboard because my new one broke, and I only have $50 to spare at the moment. I also have a bad Microsoft mouse with no macro's or anything. It does have a scroll wheel/button but that is all.Would it be best to upgrade the mouse of the keyboard at this point in time?

Depends on your gaming. The mouse is beyond essential for any FPS gaming. While the MMORPG can be played, essentially, without much mouse use. However, if you have a paypal account you may be able to get both items while coming in under budget.Other possibilities are asking around. A lot of people have working keyboards they never use anymore sitting in their "electronics" box in their basement. Asking friends is a great way to find cheap or free merchandise. Remember, you never need to spend top dollar for a name brand if you're will to wait or to haggle at the right location. I know it sounds tired, but try eBay for some cheap keyboards and mice.

They are both pretty important, but I'd say a keyboard is more important. Because of the standard keyboard architecture, certain key combinations cannot be pressed. You may have noticed this when you move horizontally in a game and hold shift, in which the movement wouldn't work and the computer may "beep". I'd recommend getting a keyboard that eliminates this so that at least you'll be able to play games properly.As for the mouse, all you get is better DPI (which is barely noticable) and additional buttons which get in the way and you accidently press all the time.

I would get a mouse because most games I know of can only be played with a mouse. Usually I only use keyboards for shortcuts. Some games like CoD, however, will require you use both, which can be annoying in a situation like yours.
