Apparently Internet Explorer 8 is already in the works and should be released sometime in 2008. According to the article 'sources' say a alpha build is already in use at Microsoft. Link! Wish they had some information about features etc. but I guess it's a little too early for that. I hope they can improve the customisation of IE and make it easier and more accessible without compromising security i.e. make it more like firefox
