I just want to know if the bin HD8 is up..... Tried various set up procedures. It seems the dongle is communicating but it just not getting pass the "NO serve or scrambled message"
It connects on boot up and the wiznet is updates to 4.8 ,serial number entered as per label and Ip set at DHCP. I ask again is anyone here that have this thing working today?

I would think that most SV owners are not buying this new SVLan unit ------For good reason, if one looks at the SV fiasco's over the last 18 months.

I have also tied the svlan and i'm getting the same no service messege tried dhcp and static i thought it was just me. But if sonic wants to sell their product then they must get good feed back in the forums and this is not i god way to do it.

well i guess they heard me svlan came up at about 8:20am after about 20hrs not sure if it was because of the static setting or what but i changed to dhcp got pic after about 10 min. but i do know that i tried both settings. not sure what channels are up yet but I am watching LMN 109 at this time no freezing for about 15minutes now. I'm off to work now will post later what channels are up.

I am...Elite with ihub converted to SVlan.

in wiznet was ihub 1.9, on elite ihub file 4.17...

first loaded elite_v0418.rom, hardbooted, `svlan_usb_wiznet.bin` hardbooted, opened wiznet and now wiznet 1.2
now loaded "svlan_V43.bin" via wiznet program
hardbooted, and network updated itself within the first minute...wiznet confirmed 4.8 now
loaded new SV360Elite_svlan_es10.rom
hardbooted

If you ever want to turn your ihub back from svlan to ihub, just reload the `svlan_usb_wiznet.bin`

I tested a few times, and you can easily go back and forth.

...guess I should add that although I have converted my ihub to svlan, I am not `watching` right now.... I`m ready, yet down, if you catch my drift. Just don`t want to give false hope, but just wanted to confirm that ihub owners can convert to svlan.

Where did you find the "svlan_V43.bin"?
I thought you had to pay $39.00 for a new serial number...

As i got a svlan thru fleabay $69.. i was to understand the svlan dondle had software written... to auto upgrade Wiznet to v 4.8 when it connects. That did happen to mine, thinking it was sending data But to no avail ;it would not get passed the "no service message" this svlan is presntly in the mail for exch...me thinks Perhaps the ser no. did not hand shake with the server.

it took me a bout 20hrs or so with my svlan but it finally came up there is some freezing some channels more that others the server is also very spotty at this time some channels even take about 5 minutes or so to come in. It seems as though the server is no different than it always was ,no difference at all. Sonic has a hell of work to do with this. I intend to post my findings on every site that i can. I know that this is all about testing but be honest about your product. Currently testing Sv8000HD.

I downloaded the files at one of the forums (I can post if needed), and ya, I heard you have to pay for the svlan serial number too, but that is only to connect to the SV server. If you are private, you could still upgrade your ihub dongle to an svlan dongle, or downgrade it back to ihub dongle...the process is reversible, that I verified numerous times.... It's just a method of converting the dongle to act as an SVLAN dongle or IHUB dongle, whichever you choose. I just wanted to see if it worked, and it does.

Now, I guess if I wanted to connect to the SVlan server with my SVlan dongle (which used to be an ihub dongle), I would have to purchase the serial number for $40.00....I have not purchased the serial number, and I am not connected to the svlan server.

Very good info, and thanks for clearing that up about the $39. I thought maybe this was a way to get around that...:veryhappy:
