ROSSBURG, Ohio (AP)—Rain has forced postponement of NASCAR driver Tony Stewart’s charity race at a dirt track he owns in Ohio.

Organizers say Wednesday’s race has been rescheduled for Sept. 9.

Stewart, Jimmie Johnson, Carl Edwards, Kyle Busch, Ryan Newman and others had been scheduled to participate in the fifth annual Prelude to the Dream at Eldora Speedway near the western Ohio village of Rossburg.

Jeff Gordon had been scheduled to race, but decided to skip the event because of back pain. He plans to rest ahead of this weekend’s NASCAR event at Pocono Raceway.

Proceeds from this year’s race will be donated to four charities dedicated to severely injured soldiers or families of military personnel who have died.
