KIMBO CUT FROM THE UFC
Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson’s days with the Ultimate Fighting championship are likely over said UFC president Dana White during the UFC 113 post-fight press conference.

“That’s probably Kimbo’s last fight in the UFC,” said White.

Ferguson burst on the fighting scene through YouTube videos of his backyard brawls. Picked up by Elite XC and promoted on The Ultimate Fighter 10 as well as his fight on Spike TV with Houston Alexander, Ferguson became one of the most recognizable faces in mixed martial arts.

On the main stage and in the limelight, Kimbo served up lemons. He was TKO’d by Seth Petruzelli in Elite XC televised on CBS. He lost his first bout on The Ultimate Fighter reality show to eventual winning Roy Nelson, and was completely dismantled by Matt Mitrione at UFC 113.

“Kimbo made it farther than I thought he would,” stated the UFC president. “He came in and took this serious, trained, and went after it.”

“I’ve got nothing but respect for Kimbo, and I like him as a person, and I think he’s carried himself really well,” added White.

“His first fight, it wasn’t like the YouTube fights that you saw, but he won that fight. He deserved another fight in the UFC, and he lost,” continued the UFC president.

When asked again about Kimbo‘s status in the UFC, White was more definitive.

“He’s done. We’re going to cut him,” said the UFC figurehead.
