CHICAGO, May 9 (UPI) -- Kevin Bieksa's two goals helped the Vancouver Canucks best Chicago 4-1 Sunday and stay alive in their Western Conference semifinal series.

Bieksa also added an assist while Christian Ehrhoff and Alexandre Burrows chipped with goals as the Canucks took the must-win game, staving off elimination and cutting the Blackhawks' series lead to 3-2.

Roberto Luongo made 29 saves, backstopping Vancouver as it snapped a three-game losing streak after winning Game 1.

The Canucks' task is still a tall one, however. They will need to win two straight games, including Tuesday's Game 6 in Vancouver, if they hope to break an 0-4 streak in second-round playoff series and advance to the Western Conference finals.

Jonathan Toews got Chicago's only goal in the defeat. The Blackhawks need one more win to reach the conference finals for the second straight year -- something they haven't accomplished since 1989-90.
