DENVER, May 11 (UPI) -- Ross Gload launched a pinch-hit three-run homer in the ninth inning Monday to power the Philadelphia Phillies to a 9-5 win over Colorado.

With the game tied 5-5 entering the final frame, Carlos Ruiz struck an RBI single off Manny Corpas (1-2) to put the Phillies ahead and Gload followed with his three-run blast to ice the win for Philadelphia.

Ruiz finished 4-for-5 with two RBIs and two runs scored and Shane Victorino added a pair of hits and crossed the plate three times to help send the Phillies to their seventh win in nine games.

Danys Baez (1-1) got credit for the win after tossing a scoreless eighth.

Jason Giambi led the Rockies with three hits and three runs batted in and Seth Smith added a trio of hits and crossed the plate three times in the defeat.

Colorado starter Greg Smith was rocked for five runs on eight hits in a 5 2/3-inning performance.
