VANCOUVER, British Columbia, (UPI) -- Antti Nemi made 29 saves Tuesday to lead the Chicago Blackhawks into the Western Conference finals with a 5-1 win over Vancouver.

Nemi kept the hometown Canucks off the scoreboard until the third period and set the stage for a finals series against San Jose.

Five Chicago players accounted for the five Chicago goals. Dustin Byfuglien had a goal and an assist.

Shane O'Brien scored the only Vancouver goal. Roberto Luongo gave up five goals on 35 shots.

Troy Brouwer and Kris Versteeg opened the scoring in early the second period with goals 36 seconds apart. Dave Bolland made it 3-0 with a shorthanded goal at 19:15 of the period.

O'Brien cut the Chicago lead to 3-1 at 3:44 of the third period; however, the Hawks responded with a goal by Patrick Kane at 8:17 and Byfuglien at 8:42.
