NBA: Boston 120, Cleveland 88
CLEVELAND, (UPI) -- Ray Allen struck for 25 points Tuesday and the Boston Celtics pounded Cleveland 120-88 to take a 3-2 lead in their Eastern Conference semifinal series.

Allen was hot from long-range, sinking 6-of-9 from beyond the arc, and Paul Pierce added 21 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists for the Celtics, who will look to close out the series at home in Thursday's Game 6.

Boston also got key contributions from Kevin Garnett, who added 18 points and grabbed six boards, and from Rajon Rondo, who chipped in with 16 with seven assists.

Boston employed a tough defense to limit Cleveland to 41.2 percent from the field and is now one win away from facing the Orlando Magic in the Western Conference finals.

Cleveland's LeBron James was held to just 15 points, posting a paltry 3-of-14 from the field. Shaquille O'Neal led the Cavs with 21 points, but Antawn Jamison and Mo Williams combined to shoot 7-of-18 and notched only nine points apiece.
