ATLANTA, (UPI) -- Troy Glaus went deep for the third straight game, backing Tim Hudson's strong start Tuesday in the Atlanta Braves' 7-3 win over Philadelphia.
The victory was the Braves' seventh straight and served to boost their National League East lead over the struggling Phillies to 1 1/2 games.
Atlanta took its 12th victory in 14 games and will seek to sweep its three-game series with the Phillies Wednesday.
Hudson (6-1) was tough, limiting Philadelphia to two runs on five hits and two walks over six innings. He fanned six batters. Hudson's only loss in his last seven starts came April 21 against the Phillies.
