Disgruntled Mankins a no-show for Patriots
FOXBOROUGH, Mass., (UPI) -- New England Patriots offensive lineman Logan Mankins did not show up for the team's first mandatory workout Tuesday and says he wants to be traded.

Mankins, an All-Pro stalwart who has reportedly turned down an offer of seven years and $35 million, was the only member of the Patriots' active roster to not attend the mini-camp, WEEI-AM, Boston, reported.

Mankins told ESPN Monday he wants to be traded. The Patriots have retained his rights with a contract tender worth $1.54 million.

Patriots Coach Bill Belichick declined to talk about Mankins, WEEI reported, saying "the situation between anybody and the club from a contract situation is between them and the club.

"Right now we're just focusing on coaching the players that are here. I think we'll go out and get things done, hopefully have a good practice today, and that's where our emphasis is -- the guys that are here," he said.
