DENVER, (UPI) -- Jason Hammel and three relievers worked in and out of trouble throughout the game Friday and wound up carrying Colorado to a 2-0 victory over Milwaukee.

Hammel (5-3) is 4-0 in his last four starts with an ERA of less than 1.00. He went 7 1/3 innings Friday, giving up seven hits and striking out four.

Milwaukee had the bases loaded with one out in the first, put two on with two out in the fourth and had runners on second and third with one out in the eighth.

Despite outhitting the Rockies 10-6, the Brewers did not manage a run and lost their second straight.

Brad Hawpe singled in the only run Colorado needed in the first and Hammel helped his own cause by putting down a successful squeeze bunt in the second that delivered Ian Stewart from third.

Manny Parra (1-5) suffered from a lack of support in taking the loss. He allowed two runs on six hits in six innings, striking out five.
