ARLINGTON, Texas, (UPI) -- Josh Hamilton extended his hitting streak to 21 games, bashing a 468-foot homer Sunday in the Texas Rangers' 10-1 inter-league rout of Houston.

Hamilton's prodigious two-run clout came in the second inning, signaling a long night for the Astros and a good one for Hamilton. His hitting streak is tied for the longest in the majors this season -- Kansas City's Jose Guillen is also currently working on a 21-game streak.

Hamilton, who added a third RBI on a sixth-inning groundout, remains seven games shy of Gabe Kapler's franchise record of 28 consecutive games with a hit.

Michael Young added a solo shot and Matt Treanor collected two hits and two RBI as Texas took the rubber match of a three-game series and won for the 16th time in 18 games.

Tommy Hunter (4-0) held the Astros to one run on five hits over six innings.
