CHICAGO, (UPI) -- Paul Konerko's two-run double in the third inning gave Chicago the lead and the White Sox went on to dispatch the Los Angeles Angels 5-2.

Brent Lillibridge chipped in with a two-run single in the sixth to back a strong start from Freddy Garcia (9-3). The right-hander held the Angels to one unearned run on five hits over six innings, boosting the White Sox to their third straight win over Los Angeles.

Bobby Jenks collected his 19th save in a game that was delayed by 2 hours, 20 minutes by rain.

Chicago vaulted over Minnesota into second place in the American League Central, one game behind the Detroit Tigers.

Los Angeles starter Joe Saunders (6-9) was rocked for 10 hits in 5 2/3 innings.
