Two tied at Turning Stone Resort

VERONA, N.Y., Rory Sabbatini and Omar Uresti both shot a 7-under 65 Thursday to share the first round lead at the Turning Stone Resort Championship.

The opening round of the tournament was delayed by thunderstorms for almost 3 hours early in the day and 24 players could not finish before dark. One of those, Chris Tidland, was 6-under for his round with two holes to play.

Those firing a 6-under 66 Thursday included Steve Elkington, Brad Faxon, Brian Davis and Alex Cejka.

Sabbatini is looking for his first PGA Tour victory since winning last year's Byron Nelson Championship. Uresti has never won on the tour.

Defending champion Matt Kuchar is playing this week at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational.

Brendon de Jonge, the event's highest ranked player in the FedEx Cup point standings at No. 20, shot a 70 and was tied for 40th.
