PHILADELPHIA, David Akers kicked his fifth field goal of the game with 9:14 remaining Friday and Philadelphia held on for a 28-27 pre-season victory over Jacksonville.

Jacksonville had three possessions after Akers gave the Eagles a one-point lead and the Jaguars could not pick up a first down in any of them. Jacksonville punted on the first two possessions and came up one-yard short on a fourth-down play at its own 30 with 1:08 remaining.

Akers produced the game's first nine points on field goals of 29, 32 and 32 yards, only to have his team fall behind at halftime 17-16. He added a 34-yarder in the third period and the Eagles pulled within a point in the first 2 minutes of the fourth on a 3-yard run by Martell Mallett.

A two-point conversion run attempt by Mallett failed, leaving the Eagles trailing by two, but Akers finally gave Philadelphia the lead with a 36-yard field goal.

Kevin Kolb, Philadelphia's No. 1 quarterback now that Donovan McNabb has been dealt to Washington, completed 6-of-11 for 95 yards. Michael Vick came on to throw for 119 yards and run 10 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter. Vick, however, had an interception and lost one of his two fumbles.

Jacksonville's Luke McCown threw for three touchdowns, including a 55-yarder to Tiquan Underwood that gave the Jaguars a 27-19 lead going into the fourth period.
