MLB: Los Angeles Dodgers 2, Atlanta 1

ATLANTA, Ted Lilly and four relievers combined to hold Atlanta to four hits Saturday and the Los Angeles Dodgers squeaked out a 2-1 victory over the Braves.

Atlanta had a three-game winning streak snapped and saw its lead over second-place Philadelphia in the National League East sliced to two games.

Lilly (6-8) gave up three hits and walked two in six scoreless innings to win his third straight start since being acquired from the Chicago Cubs.

Kenley Jansen gave up the only Atlanta run in the seventh, allowing a walk and a one-out double.

Hong-Chih Kuo, who was elevated into the role of closer, replacing the struggling Jonathan Broxton, worked a perfect ninth for his fourth save. The Dodgers had lost their three previous games.

Los Angeles scored a run in the fourth on a double play grounder and Andre Ethier's sacrifice fly in the seventh drove in what turned out to be the winning score.

Derek Lowe (11-10) took the loss, giving up 10 hits but only one run over six innings.
