CHICAGO, Miguel Tejada went 4-for-5 and Kevin Correia hurled six shutout innings Monday to power the San Diego Padres to a 9-5 win over the Chicago Cubs.

Tejada's RBI double in the seventh ignited a three-run uprising and he added a run-scoring single in the eighth, pacing the first-place Padres to a win in the first of four games at Wrigley Field.

Chris Denorfia went 3-for-5 with a pair of RBI and Chase Headley chipped in with two hits and an RBI for the victors.

Correia (10-7) scattered five hits over six innings and drove in the game's first run with a fifth-inning double. The right-hander notched his fifth victory in six starts.

Cubs starter Tom Gorzelanny (6-7) yielded five runs on nine hits over 6 1/3 innings.

Blake DeWitt hit a two-run homer and Kosuke Fukudome went 3-for-5 with a pair of RBI for Chicago.
