MLB: Texas 4, Minnesota 3
ARLINGTON, Texas, -- Vladimir Guerrero's sixth-inning homer gave Texas the lead Wednesday and the Rangers won their fourth straight with a 4-3 victory over Minnesota.

Guerrero continued to battle his way out of a recent slump by driving in two runs and helping the Rangers keep an 8 1/2-game lead over second-place Oakland in the American League West.

The Twins have dropped the first three outings in the four-game series, the last two by one run, but stayed 3 1/2 games ahead of the second-place Chicago White Sox in the AL Central.

Minnesota scored twice in the fifth to tie it 3-3. That is the way it stayed until Guerrero led off the sixth by hitting a 1-0 pitch from Brian Duensing over the wall in left.

Guerrero had a two-out, RBI single in the third to give the Rangers a 3-1 lead.

It was the second homer in four games for Guerrero after having had just one in the previous six weeks. This was also only his second multiple RBI game in August.

Josh Hamilton opened the Texas offense with a two-run homer in the first. It was his only hit of the game, dropping his batting average to .356.

Texas starter C.J. Wilson (13-5) lasted six innings to get the win. He gave up three runs on seven hits.

With closer Neftali Feliz having been overworked in recent days, Matt Harrison came on to record the final two outs for his second save.

Duensing (7-2) suffered his first loss as a starter this year, giving up four runs on six hits in six innings. He had been 4-0 since joining the rotation.
