[FYI] Week 13 best & worst: Colts' loss puts them behind Jaguars in playoff race

BOOTLICKER
Biggest surprise: The 7-5 Jaguars ended Sunday in sole possession of first place in the AFC South. Their win in Tennessee and the Colts' loss to the Cowboys gave Jacksonville a one-game lead.

Most unlikely goat: Colts QB Peyton Manning threw four INTs in the 38-35 overtime loss to Dallas. His final pick set up the Cowboys' game-winning field goal. The two-time defending MVP has now thrown 11 INTs in the past three games.

Robert Mathis and the Colts fell to 6-6 on Sunday.

Best ending: The Browns clinched a walk-off 13-10 win at Miami when Phil Dawson kicked a 23-yard field as time expired.

Best clutch TD: Atlanta QB Matt Ryan threw a 9-yard TD pass to Michael Jenkins with 4:31 left to seize a 28-24 lead that would stand as the final score in the win at Tampa. The Falcons claimed an NFL-best 10-2 record while sweeping the Bucs in the season series.

Worst flop: The Chargers lost for the first time in December since 2005 in a 28-13 defeat at home to the Raiders. The Bolts fell to 6-6, two games behind the AFC West-leading Chiefs, after being swept in the season series by Oakland.

Best receiving tandem: Packers wideouts Greg Jennings and Donald Driver combined for 10 catches for 195 yards and three TDs in a 34-16 win against San Francisco. Jennings had scores of 1 and 57 yards and Driver a 61-yard TD.

Worst penalty: Leading 28-27, Colts DL Eric Foster gave new life to the Cowboys in the fourth quarter when he was flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct by jumping over the Dallas line on a field-goal attempt. The penalty, with 3:30 left, gave a first down to the Cowboys at the Colts' 3 and led to a Cowboys TD in their 38-35 overtime win.

Best catch: Vikings WR Sidney Rice leaped between Bills CB Leodis McKelvin and S Donte Whitner and emerged with a 31-yard TD catch after both he and McKelvin landed in the end zone fighting for possession in the first quarter of a 38-14 win.

Best rushing unit (1): Giants RBs Ahmad Bradshaw and Brandon Jacobs combined for 200 yards on the ground and four TDs in a 31-7 win against the Redskins.

Best rushing unit (2): The Raiders combined for 251 rushing yards and three TDs in a 28-13 win at San Diego.

Best running back: Jacksonville's Maurice Jones-Drew rushed for 186 yards to help power the Jaguars' 17-6 win at Tennessee.

Best rise to .500: The Rams improved to 6-6 with a 19-6 win at Arizona that left them tied with Seattle atop the NFC West. The Rams won just six games in the previous three seasons combined.

Best rally: The Seahawks, who trailed the Panthers 14-3 at halftime, rebounded for a 31-14 win behind three second-half TDs by Marshawn Lynch.

Best kick return: Twenty-one seconds after the Bucs extended their fourth-quarter lead to 24-14, Atlanta's Eric Weems recorded a 102-yard kickoff return for a TD to start a Falcons comeback in their 28-24 win.

Worst losing streak: The Bengals' 34-30 loss to the Saints was their ninth in a row. It's just the third time in team history that Cincinnati (2-10) has had such a losing streak.

Worst missed tackle: 49ers TE Vernon Davis left Packers S Nick Collins spinning after dodging him on a 66-yard TD reception in the second quarter of a 34-16 loss at Green Bay.

Worst INT: Dolphins QB Chad Henne threw a game-changing pick to Browns S Michael Adams with 54 seconds left. Adams returned the pick 25 yards to the 2 to set up the Browns' game-clinching field goal in a 13-10 win.

Quickest path to team record: Saints QB Drew Brees, in his fifth season with the team, overtook Archie Manning to become the franchise leader in passing yards. Brees threw for 312 yards in a 34-30 win at Cincinnati to give him 21,932 yards and surpass Manning's mark of 21,734. Brees' Saints tenure has marked the most passing yards by a QB in any five-year span in NFL history.

Best YAC (yards after the catch): Packers WR Donald Driver broke at least five tackle attempts as he dodged multiple 49ers defenders to seal a 61-yard scoring pass from Aaron Rodgers in the third quarter of a 34-16 win.

Most unexpected hug: Chiefs coach Todd Haley embraced Broncos coach Josh McDaniels following a 10-6 win that came just three weeks after Haley refused to shake hands following a 49-26 loss in Denver.

Best relief work: Tarvaris Jackson led the Vikings to a 38-14 win against the Buffalo Bills in relief of an injured Brett Favre. Jackson went 15-for-22 with two TD passes and three INTs -- but led the Vikings to four straight TDs in the first half -- after Favre was hurt on the opening drive. Vikings coach Leslie Frazier said Favre (shoulder) would retain the starting job if healthy.

Most controversial penalty: Referee Ed Hochuli flagged Lions DT Ndamukong Suh for unnecessary roughness after he tackled a scrambling Bears QB Jay Cutler across the line of scrimmage with 8:46 left to play. The penalty -- which Hochuli defended as being "an unnecessary non-football act" -- gave the Bears a first down at the Lions' 7, and Cutler threw a game-winning TD pass on the next play.

Longest field goal: Miami's Dan Carpenter set a franchise record with a 60-yard field goal in a 13-10 loss to Cleveland. It tied for the fifth-longest in league history.

Worst offense: The Titans, with Kerry Collins their third starting QB in as many weeks, extended their streak of consecutive quarters without an offensive QB to 13 in a 17-6 loss to Jacksonville.

Sloppiest team: The Redskins committed six turnovers (two INTs and four lost fumbles) in a 31-7 loss to the Giants.

Worst start: The Chargers got an early omen about their looming 28-13 loss to the Raiders when Darren Sproles muffed a punt with 10:45 left in the first quarter. The Raiders recovered at the Chargers' 18-yard line and scored a TD four plays later.

Worst breakaway speed: Panthers P Jason Baker chased down Seahawks PR Leon Washington at the 2-yard line to deprive him of an 86-yard TD return in the third quarter of Seattle's 31-14 win.

Best coverage: A gaggle of Giants special teamers converged on Redskins P Hunter Smith when ex-Redskins WR Devin Thomas blocked Smith's punt with 10:35 left in the game. The turnover, recovered at Washington's 13-yard line, set up a Giants field goal in their 31-7 win.

Most notable non-TD: Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe had his streak of seven straight games with a TD reception end in a 10-6 win against Denver. Bowe, defended primarily by Broncos CB Champ Bailey, didn't even have a catch. He had 13 TDs in the previous seven games.

Longest divisional drought: The Lions' loss to the Bears was their 19th straight loss in the NFC North. Detroit last won a division game on Oct. 28, 2007.

Best throwback uniforms: The Chargers (in their powder blue jerseys) and the Bucs (in their creamsicle tops) looked sharp, but the Packers' navy jerseys-with-brown helmets may have turned the clock back too far with their homage to their 1929 forebears.

Worst home cooking: The Dolphins lost for the fifth time in six home games in a 13-10 defeat to the Browns. Miami is the only team without a losing record with fewer than three wins at home.
