DIRECTV Adds Local HD Markets

DIRECTV expanded its local HD channel offerings to 115 markets with the debut of the service in an additional six cities on Wednesday.
The new HD local channel markets are Des Moines-Ames, Iowa; El Paso, Texas; Fort Wayne, Ind.; La Crosse-Eau Claire, Wis.; Peoria-Bloomington, Ill.; and Rockford, Ill.
With the launch of the new HD markets, DIRECTV offers access to local HD broadcast channels to more than 87 percent of U.S. TV households, the satellite TV company said.
