As of August 15 2010 - I can not get the Weather Forecaster to work on the Ultra Satellite Receiver and I have tried three Ultra’s individually with no success …this is my first time setting up the Weather Forecaster. I am using ALL of the updates as shown below and have CAREFULLY followed all installation and configuration instructions:

1) load the cleaner file - PFTAUSW-Cleaner-U
2) load the latest Factory bin - PFTAUSW-100318U Update WF
3) load the defective fix - PFTAUSW-100614U Update WF
4) load the latest iks bin - PFTAUSW-100708U Update WF
5) reset satellite settings before scanning channels

The “Static IP’ on the Ultra appears to install all of the numeric configurations settings with no problems; but the ending result – NO television of ANY sort except the Dish information channel (FREE CHANNEL) which comes through with no problems. In fact I tried three different cable line locations with still no results using three different Weather Forecasters and Ultras. The locations I choose to test the Weather Forecaster and Ultra have high speed internet service ….and yes the cable connections at all three locations are fine ….but still no television from the Ultra.

I am not new to FTA. Two years ago I installed and configured many Ultra FTA receivers for many of my friends and associates with no problems. Is it possible for a cable company (or otherwise) to “block” incoming or outgoing IKS settings to the Ultra? What are my options or what am I doing wrong - before I return all three Weather Forecasters to the seller. HEEEELLLLPPPPP!!!!!

did you reboot your modem it sound like you got it right,, reboot dsl the your box and then let it sit,,,

After you got your ethernet cable hooked up and went to IP setttings, was there any info on the screen. If not, you need to boot your router/modem. Try this and let us know...

Also,Make sure the DHCP is On ,Reboot everything!

good luck

Re: No television ..... Problem Resolved ....BUT HELP STILL NEEDED!!!!

:privateeye:The problem is DSL vs Cable Line (Cox Communications). As of August 15 2010 I got the Weather Forecaster to work immediately – perfectly using a DSL location following the original steps outlined above. The Weather Forecaster is not compatible with certain cable lines. NOTE: Keep in mind that I originally tried the Weather Forecaster on three independent separate cable lines at three different locations (all owned by Cox Communications) with NO success. Also by the way the PFTAUSW-100708U Update works great except no locals from nearby cities or PPV. Is there a patch available for Cable Line (Cox Communications) to get the Weather Forecaster on ALL cable line providers?

Glad to see you got your system back up,, however from what I under stand I could be wrong but what you see as far as channel goes is what you get,, you might get more channels if you do a rescan,, don't know for sure,, have a look in the help forums to see what we have,,

good luck

...and the Weather Today: Sunny Sky's with a slight chance of rain >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

:)As of August 17 2010 …just a few hours of posting my positive results I did eventually get the Weather Forecaster to operate successfully using Cable Internet Line (Cox Communications). So as to date everything is fine now. Buy-the-way ….does any one have an idea when ALL of the channels may be back up and running again with a new fix release date?
