Sources: Fergie regrets access offer
LONDON, (UPI) -- Britain's duchess of York has regrets after being filmed in a tabloid sting allegedly offering access to Prince Andrew for money, sources told The Sunday Times.

The News of the World sting allegedly filmed the duchess, Sarah Ferguson, offering to sell access to her former husband for 500,000 pounds (about $723,500), the report said.

The duchess allegedly told a reporter posing as an Indian businessman that the huge payment would open doors, and was allegedly filmed sitting in front of a table with a large amount of cash, The Sunday Times said.

The report said there was no suggestion that Prince Andrew was aware of the meetings, though the duchess allegedly said he was. Andrew now works as an unpaid special representative for U.K. Trade & Investment, a government agency.

The News of the World says Ferguson, who is allegedly deep in debt, met its reporter twice, in New York on May 13 and in London last week.

Meanwhile, the duchess was on her way to Los Angeles to pick up an award for her work with underprivileged children.

The Sunday Times said a Buckingham Palace spokesman declined comment.
