Russia's RT Spanish channel airs in D.C.

MOSCOW, Se -- Russian news channel RT introduced Washington to its Spanish-language, 24-hour broadcast Wednesday, the Russian network said.
"RT English has achieved serious results in the (United States). People know about us and watch us," RT Editor-in-Chief Margarita Simonyan said in a release. "We have no doubt that our Spanish-language channel will find its audience in the U.S. and will be in demand just as much as our English-language channel, considering that Spanish is the second most popular language in the U.S. with about 40 million speakers."
RT Spanish is available in the Washington area through MHz Networks, Simonyan said.
RT Spanish, launched in December 2009, broadcasts 24 hours a day, seven days a week from Moscow, with viewership in Europe and the Americas.
