What type of camcorder should a traveller get?

OK. I am from the U.S., and I will be going on a tour to Dubai, Singapore, and Mauritius. I need a camcorder that is able to play back its recorded videos by connecting it directly to the TVs in these places, all of which use different TV color systems. So what type of camcorder is best for me? My first preference is a MiniDV type camcorder. Thanks in advance.

For you the most convenient will be HDD type camcorder. Don't worry about the format (PAL or NSTC), because now a days most of the TVs support both the formats. You can use Sony DCR-SR-40.

Well i have just the thing for you. My camcorder is a miniDV cannon ZR500 and I love it. it's battery lasts a long time. Great picture. You can play it back on a T.V. or on the camcorder itself. Its small and practical but very stylish. It has one of those flip it over screens. Its very easy to use and not over priced. If you were to buy a camcorder that's the one to get.
