Thread: Geforce fx 5500 graphics card

    Geforce fx 5500 graphics card

I have been playing World of Warcraft for the past six months with no problem. Yesterday it crashed and has not been working properly ever since. The blue screen said drive failure. I contacted the support people and they had me update my driver becuase it is 2 years old. The program says it found the graphics card but when I go to update it say it cannot find any compatible drivers for your current hardware. The support guy says it sounds like when my computer was built privately that the drivers were looked and I need to unlock to continue the updates. Does this make any sense.

Where are you getting the driver from?
Who is the manufacture of your video card?

Most likely your trying to install the wrong driver. You will need to go the manufacture for the update!
Post the info so I can further help you!

The graphics card was manufactured by Kaser Corp. I visited the website Kasercorp.com but didn't see a driver update for the geforce fx 5500?

Thats the file I tried to download but it just keeps saying "cannot locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware". I tired it again today but same thing. I tried the same video card from my roomates computer in mine and it still won't download.

Try uninstalling your old driver by going to add remove programs, MAKE SURE to remove anything that says NVIDIA. Restart your computer then try to install the above driver. If your having this problem with 2 video cards chances are buying a new one will give you the same problem with the new card! This is a software problem not hardware.
