Will after 3 months of looking at all the receivers, I bought the Viewsat Pro. Now it is time to play. I have down loaded the Loader2 and the Bin. I have Null Modem cable pluged in the com port. From here it is different than the Fortec that I have done. I did find some info in the forum. But, it is for the VS Xtreme. I would like to know if it is the same for the VS Pro?

This is a copy of what I found.

Chapter 2: Programming (Flashing) your Viewsat Xtreme

PLUG in ViewSat; turn rear POWER switch “OFF”. Connect ViewSat to computer Com1 Port via Null Modem cable

Open the program "Loader2. Click on tool, click on configuration and select the comm. port, Click "Open Files", select “DBPSW_060814ES_XTREME.PGM” to write to the ViewSat.

Click on PC-->STB button, then go press the Power “ON” switch on your ViewSat rear panel. (You should see the File loading properly)

WAIT! DO NOT TOUCH VIEWSAT!!! It will load the file. After file transfer is complete, the front panel will display “INST” for 15 seconds while it installs the software; “End” is displayed for about the next 10 seconds; then “ 00.00 “

. . . . . Front Panel goes to “0000”; you may switch power “OFF” and hook up to your TV

Connect your wire from the Satellite D!sh to the LNB input on the back of your receiver.

Plug ViewSat into the wall socket and turn rear power switch “ON” .

End of programming.

Thanks for you help. I do not want to lose $200 on programing the wrong way.

The VS pro has a USB upgradability? If it does then it's simple. I never decided to try a Pro, when they first came out they were just a Ultra on roids. Read your manual regarding software updateing on that and if it USB i can post the steps you need to undertake to get it working.
