Downloading Problem

Hi
I have viewsat xtreme.. and i was downloading the files with no problems. Since 14th dec 07 when the new file came out and i tried to download it..the loader gets stuck at the downloading point. it says 0 % and remains like that. I tried various things to fix it..it did not work. I am affraid my serial port might have gone bad ? or there could be another problem ?

An easy way of testing your serial post is with a loopback cable. Are you running XP or Vista? Or may i even say it Windows 98, 95, OR 3.11??? haha

Is this an older computer or are you useing a USB to Serial adapter? Because we don't know your system please be as specific as you can.

im using vista.. and its a serial port .. com2 which i usually choose at configuration of the loader. its a black cable i got it with the receiver..and ive tried it over dozen times and it used to work . Im confused

OK, cable is right now i'm not too vista, umm, how do i say. I have never used vista for any length of time and am unsure of how to go about fixing that problem.

All i can recomend is the last time you fixed your dish did you install and programs prior to the reboot? Change any settings? (dought it but still worth mentioning) or anyting out of the ordanary?

well i dont remember changing anything.. im sure the computers serial port is working fine.. i just baught it a month ago..the computer is brandnew.. and is there any other way to find out if the serial port on the receiver is working?

you can try a lopback test but requires a loop back cable. Try pluging in a serial mouse? There cheap :)

I just from work and download new fix still premiums and ppvs are down Idon't know what is the problem evry new fix does'nt take afew hr and get freezing is any body have the answerand thank you.??????????????
