[Attention] ALL WF units that are Down Try This.

The posting that is referred to at the beginning of this post is one I posted on another site. I see that it has made its way around the sat communities. I was fortunate enough to get information about the iptables entry from another user. His original post was to run these commands through your computer. The only problem with this is that the majority of people out here are using Windows based system. What needs to be clarified here is that these commands are Linux based. That is the reason for having to upgrade the firmware on your router to the DD-WRT. DD-WRT is a Linux based firmware that really opens your router up to so much more capabilities. However, the problem is that not all routers are capable of using DD-WRT.

I have been trying to research options to loading these two strings but have been unsuccessful so far. I have loaded Linux on my computer and have been playing with it to see if I can make these changes and possible post back how others might do so as well. If anyone here is experienced with Linux and iptables, I would appreciate any help I might get.

Maybe we can all work together to help get those who have no tv back up and running agian.

"chancetacker" we are very please you have found this site,, what we are seeing from your post reply it seem your fitting right in as if you been here for a long time,, along with jumping in to help the other members,, we hope you could stick around and can stay part of our family,, we also hope to keep learning form you aswell,, we like to see our members bringing there ideas or suggestions that the members may think we need to inprove on,, please tell us so we can make a better pleace for all members,, this is what set us apart from all the other sites and why we are one of the top leaders in the FTA world, "we listen to our members",,

chancetaker....you're on the right track.....I hope you can figure some way to get the wf to select the correct ip address....I know you know that most of us don't own a compatible router for the DD WRT there has to be a way to direct the wf using windows7 or a program to allow it.

Even if there is no way to make Windows 7 run it, you can run Linux off of a Flash Drive. I have put it on a flash drive here and ran it, liked it, and loaded it on a partition of my computer. I am just trying to figure out how it edit my iptables in it to run this string.

Its not a hard system to get loaded, and I am only self taught on the computer and the FTA scene. So anyone should be able to do it. I just need some help from Linux people.

Gonna work on it and see what happens.
