[Attention] WF members who are down READ THIS

my box is always turned on ,that way you have tv right away and not have wait for connection. check your serial connection, the top ip address should be the same as default gateway and dns only thing is last 2 digits are left out

example : 193.148.0.195 ( ip address)
255.255.255.0 (sub Mask)
193.148.0.1 default gateway
193.148.0.1 DNS
2nd DNS does not have to be filled in
save settings and exit out and leave on channel 105

change your settings and you might be up and running
my WF is set that way and so is my CNX and they both work good.

hi i have a viewsat ultra with forecaster and was working very good till i switched to another ultra and now i got nothing on both receivers i can make it work can some1 helpme please

am I reading this right "wizbang" you now have your system up and working,, Please clarify this for me buddy because if your system is working,,, I want thank the members and I can jump for joy for you if I'm not in too much pain from my back and legs,, LOL!!

No.no.....I just wanted to let you know how to goto your router ip on the internet....you can see what is hooked up but I still have no way to change it.

OK wizbang I understand now,, we do have a few thing on "how too change IP addy on your router" looks to me your getting close to something,, if you don't understand how to do it,, seek out CASPER it's alittle hard to catch up on with him on some day's but he does check in CASPER real good on showing us how too change your IP,, just don't give up,,

Maybe but when I type the 1 it goes nowhere but when I type the 2 it goes to web site.
Whatever the number is that you see in the wf default gateway
mine is 192.168.2.1

did you check the list of compatible routers to take the download fix i posted a list of no-compatible ones and at bottom of post a link for compatible routers that will take the download.

if 192.168.2.1 is your default gateway, then use the same numbers for your DNS.

I'm anxious to see if that really works...I read cnx has kicked WF off their server and once you power off then you cannot get back on. They said the reason was server overloaded and causing freezing, to be fair to cnx customers, that would elimanate most of the freezing. Of couse this just might be a rumor, but makes more sense than anything else I have read.

Yes thanks guys I did check, my router it is incompatible, just waiting now to see if anyone can figure out how to trick the wf to go to the correct ip address in windows, I was reading chancetaker's email, I hope he can come up with something, he sounds like he's heading in the right direction.
The thing that gets me is, if cnx and wf used the same server and cnx kicked the wf from it then if everyone figures out how to hook back up to the cnx server by inputting ip addresses then isn't the cnx server going to get overloaded again. They will probably start banning mac addresses of wfs.
I worried about something like this happening when I was purchasing a wf, I thought once they have sold 100,000 of these things at $125.00 who's to say they just don't keep their servers up.....nothing anyone can do about it really....yeah I know I'm just ranting right now, but hey, I got nothing better to do I have no tv

I really don't want to go the Linux WFEMU way but hey you never know. I already have a computer loaded with ubuntu and all the correct settings, but I`m afraid to spend money right now.

Everytime I try to change these settings from my menu,installation,serial setup, network setup,network setting. and change DHCP to Static input the changes then save. I return to this and the setup is back to DHCP. So I believe this means I am on a dynamic ip router. So I think I can not use your changes. I will try getting into my router to put this in as static but its going to take me reading the manual on how to do this.

its not taking your settings cause you are not connecting to server.flash your router or first go to the website for your router and check if any new firmware is there for your model of router, if ther are more than 1 update for your router DO NOT skip any do them in order and see if that helps

didnt work for me LOLLL

I'm hoping WF will come up with their own server soon. When cnx first went to IKS they were using the I-link server. After a few months I-link forced them out and it took then about 5 or six weeks to get their server going, so it should be about time for WF to be up soon if they are serious about keeping their customers happy.
