Current WF/Weather Forecaster Status and Help
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
this may help to check for compatibility and setup.....c/p Tamlando.**Keep in mind this may not work if you are using a straight modem to the box
unless the modem is a router combo that is supported firmware on the site**
1) 1ST thing to do is go to the DD-WRT website xxw.dd-wrt.com/site/support/router-database and download
the appropriate firmware for your router -
BE SURE to download the correct firmware for your box and follow the directions to the T or
you WILL brick your router!
***Please note - the firmware is not available for all routers***
2) Next once the DD-WRT is updated as firmware on your router
then you should be able to interface that application on your router through your cpu and begin inputting the changes below:
Next in the router under the Status>LAN of the router administration page. On this page, You can see the Static clients one of which is the WF :
Active Clients:
Host Name / IP / Address / MAC Address Conn. / Count Ratio [1024]
DX-X00-N (WF-Vsat host name)
This also has the ip address and mac address.
Write down the mac address to be used on another page as well as the host name and ip address.
4) Go to the services page and put in these three items under the Static Leases. Once they were typed in, you simply hit the save button on the bottom.
5) go to the Administration>Commands tab of the router and put this string in as follows;
you have to use one space in those 2 command lines so it looks like this once you save all 3 (firewall - startup - shutdown):
iptables -t nat -A PREROUTING -d 127.00.00.1-p tcp -j DNAT --to 190.210.60.59
(it CANNOT look like this in the command line)
iptables -t nat -A PREROUTING -d 127.00.00.1 -p tcp -j DNAT --to 190.210.60.59iptables -t nat -A PREROUTING -d 127.00.00.1 -p tcp -j DNAT --to 190.210.60.59
once they are typed into the command window,
hit the save firewall option on that page -
then hit the save startup option and finally
hit the save shutdown option on that page.
Once you saved all 3 options you should have 3 command paragraphs on
the same page - each with 2 lines like above.
Your router will reboot and thats when the tv came should come back up.
you can also "apply changes" on the setup-basic setup screen to ensure
the reboot on the router applies all your changes.
now with these options on the VS Ultra Lite and other Vsats you
can actually turn off your power on the box (not hard boot off)
*****Another thing to add is that this firmware update and fix on your router
will NOT cause ANY interference on other boxes you have on the same router or even
any other cpu's, devices, etc - the fix is static and fully independent of other functions
as i have other boxes on mine and all work fine together ...hope this helps...
