I have from a while back with my Windows 7 search not getting any results. So here's how I solve the problem:
First try all my drives to the search index here's how you do that:
1. Open the Control Panel (All Items view), and double click on the Indexing Options icon.
2. Click on the Modify button.
3. If prompted by UAC, then click on Yes.
4. Put a check mark on all of your drives in the list that you want in the search index, "I recommend all of them".
5. Click on the OK button.
Then rebuild the search index:
1. Open the Control Panel (All Items view), and double click on the Indexing Options icon.
2. Click on the Advanced button.
3. If prompted by UAC, then click on Yes.
4. Click on the Rebuild button.
5. Click on OK.
6. After a moment, you will notice the index being rebuilt. Click on Close.
Rebuilding the search index took a long time because I have a lot of drive storage. Once it was done all my search results were working again I hope this works for somebody else.
