Pakistan warned of terror consequences
WASHINGTON, (UPI) -- Secretary of State Hillary Clinton says Pakistan has been warned it will face consequences if a terror attack in the United States originates in Pakistan.

"We've made it very clear that if, heaven-forbid, an attack like this that we can trace back to Pakistan were to have been successful, there would be very severe consequences," Clinton told CBS News' reporter Scott Pelly in an interview aired Sunday on "60 Minutes."

"We've gotten more cooperation and it's been a real sea change in the commitment we've seen from the Pakistani government. (But) We want more. We expect more," Clinton said.

U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder and John Brennan, President Obama's homeland security and counter-terrorism adviser, said Sunday that the failed car bombing in New York's Times Square May 1 was the work of the Pakistani Taliban. The SUV-bomb was parked by Pakistani-American suspect Faisal Shahzad, a naturalized U.S. citizen who says he was trained in Pakistan.

Clinton said the attack had changed Pakistan's attitude toward fighting Islamic extremists.

"We also have a much better relationship, military to military, intelligence to intelligence, government to government than we had before," she said.
