Pakistan strikes kill 13 insurgents
PESHAWAR, Pakistan, (UPI) -- Pakistani fighter jets struck militant hideouts in the Orakzai tribal region, killing 13 suspected insurgents, officials said.
Dawn News reported the jets destroyed four militant hideouts in the Torsmad and Khotak areas.
Five other insurgents died when ordnance exploded in one of their hideouts in Orakzai's Samar bazaar area, Dawn said.
A Pakistani military offensive in the Orakzai tribal region began in mid-March to flush out militants who had fled there from the military campaign in South Waziristan
The government had declared victory over the Taliban in the region earlier this month.
